I, Edward L. Gaines

As principal and John m. Glenn and William A. Davis-as securities are held and firmly bound unto the State of Missouri in the sum of Five thousand nine hundred dollars for the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs and family by these presents the condition of the above Bond is that of Edward L. Gaines.

Administration of the Estate of Thomas Gaines----------Deceased shall faithfully Administer said estate, account for and deliver all money and property of said estate and perform all other things vouching said administration required by law or the order or dicne (decision ?) of any court having jurisdiction. Then the above bond will by word otherwise, and remain in full force. Given under our hands and seals the 2^nd day of August A.D. 1859.
