I am looking for information on African American Woolfolk’s. The head of
my Woolfolk's, Peter Woolfolk was born 1813 in Virginia according to the
1870 census. Peter's wife was Cherry born about 1830 in Virginia also.
Their parents are also from Virginia. Peter and Cherry Woolfolk migrated or
was brought to Kentucky as slaves since four of their eldest children were
born in Kentucky in the 1850's. Those children were Harriet, Harry, John
and Peter Clark Woolfolk. By 1865 Peter migrated his family to Pulaski
County, Illinois approximately 30 miles from the Kentucky Illinois border. I
have looked for years trying to piece the life of this Woolfolk family prior to
1870 with very little luck. I would appreciate any info you may come across
to help.

Would like information on the following Woolfolk family.  Peter Woolfolk was born about 1813 in Virginia according to the 1870 census.  His parents were born in Virginia.  I would love to know who they were.  Peter's wife was Cherry born about 1830 in Virginia also.  Her parents are also from Virginia.  I would like to find information on her as well, especially who her parents and siblings were.

Peter and Cherry Woolfolk migrated from Virginia, to Kentucky and finally settled in Pulaski County Illinois by 1870.  Known children of theirs were:

Harriet born approximately 1853 in Kentucky.  No record of her since the 1870 Pulaski County Illinois Census.

Harry Woolfolk born approximately 1856 in Kentucky.  No record of him since the 1870 Pulaski County  Illinois Census.

John Woolfolk born approximately 1858 in Kentucky.  No record of him since the 1870 Pulaski County Illinois Census.

Peter Clark Woolfolk born approximately 1861 in Kentucky.  No record of him since the 1880 Pulaski County Illinois Census.

Albert Woolfolk  born approximately 1867 in Illinois.  No record of him since the 1880 Pulaski County Illinois Census.

Coleman Woolfolk born approximately 1869 in Illinois.  Coleman is the only Woolfolk I have been able to trace beyond 1880.

I would love to hear from anyone with information. You can find more on my families as well as links to other Woolfolk researchers at http://www.debdavis.org/.

Seeking information on ancestors of John Wesley Maddox born 1791 in Georgia. Mother was a Woolfolk, father came to American with Lafayette to fight the British in American Revolution and was given land grant in Georgia for his service. Do you happen to have any information on this line or know where to go for help? Will share any info I have.
