Louis HODGE - I am interested in finding any information on the following relatives and their descendents. My great-great grandfather Louis HODGE was born about 1816 in North Carolina. He married Melissa CREWS in Dyers County Tennessee on May 19, 1866 according to freedman’s marriage records. They resided in Obion County, Tennessee in the 1880 census with their children Aaron (born 1865; Tennessee), John (born 1866; Tennessee), Lucinda HODGE O'NEAL (born Aug/24/1872), Lena HODGE MCCLELLAND (b: Feb/13/1875; Tennessee) and Millie (born Jun/02/1878; Tennessee).
Melissa HODGE married Jeff Manion in 1889 in Pulaski County, Illinois. She lived there until after the 1910 census. I would like to know where she died?
NO trace of Aaron HODGE has been found to date other than the 1880 census. I would like to know more about him.
John HODGE was listed in the 1900 Pulaski County, Illinois census living with his mother Melissa. Also in the household with Malissa at the time were grandson Louis and daughter Millie. I found grandson Louis in the SSDI having died 1969 in Obion County, Tennessee. His mother was Lula BOWDEN. His wife was Lula HODGE. I would really love to hear from his descendents and know who his parents were. . John later moved to East St. Louis, Illinois where he died on July 22, 1919.
Lucinda Hodge married Robert O'NEAL who was born Jan/01/1868 in Grand Chain, Illinois, and died Oct/17/1937 in St. Louis, Missouri. Their children were: George Arthur O'NEAL, born Dec/26/1890, Maunie, Illinois; died Mar/28/1972, St. Louis, Missouri, Hattie O'NEAL, born Dec/31/1893, Grand Chain, Illinois; died Jul/11/1952, St. Louis, Missouri and Amanda O'NEAL, born Nov/09/1895, Grand Chain, Illinois; died Feb/15/1910, Cairo, Illinois.
Lena HODGE was my great-grandmother. She married Witt MCCLELLAND Known children were Lillian, Pearlie, Melvin, Elic, John (my grandfather), James, Marie and Mabel. I believe they raised their children in Pulaski County, Illinois.
Malissa CREWS HODGE also had another son, George SCOTT. George was born in Mooresville, Tennessee in Marshall County. He married Amanda Gunerson September 13, 1935 in Cairo, Illinois. George died March 25, 1938 in Cairo.
Louis and Melissa both had families prior to their marriage. I would be interested in information on those families. It would be especially thrilling to learn of other relatives. Thanking you in advance. Deborah Davis
I am looking for the Hodge family in the Obion County Tennessee area. I am interested in the time period prior to 1880 and present. I am in search for any Hodge descending from Louis Hodge born approximately 1816 in North Carolina resided in various counties of Tennessee. He had two wives and about 5 children by each of them. I believe Louis first wife was named Mary and they may have lived in Gibson County, Tennessee. I have been unable to find any descendents of the first marriage which would have been sometime before 1866 when he married my gr-gr grandmother Malissa Crews in Dyer county, Tennessee.
Thanking you in advance. Deborah Davis, Edwardsville, IL

I am looking for the parents of William and Huldah Hodge, b. about 1790-1800 (both) in NY. They were living in Marcellus and Otisco, Onondaga County in the 1810 to 1820 era and moved to Granby, Oswego County sometime in the early 1820’s. William died, I believe, shortly after 1831 or 1832. Huldah, the mother, is in the 1840 census in Ira, Cayuga, NY with her children. Their children were Huldah, Russell, Mary Ann, William W., Lucy and George. Huldah, Russell and William were born in Otisco. Lucy was born in Granby. Russell married Mary Cunningham from Oswego, Huldah married Peter F. Wood from Lysander, Mary Ann married Thomas Gibbs from Granby, William married Mary Teller from Ira, and Lucy married Horace Baldwin from near Ira, Cayuga County. Russell and William W. moved on to Minnesota, but the rest of the family lived their lives in the Oswego, Cayuga, Onondaga counties of NY and died there. Many are buried in the Chase Cemetery near Baldwinsville, Onondaga, NY.
