Bunnie Ferro-Martucci
My grandmother's name was/is Helen Crossland, born on April 13, 1902
and she passed away on July 16, 1977 (she married Oliver Workman and
they had 13 children. Her mother was Catharine (F.) Fosbrink born on
Oct. 12, 1876 and died on March 14, 1908, she married James G. Crossland
born 1872 and died 1949. He re-married and my grandmother's grandparents
raised her(Fosbrink), James Crossland fathered 3 more daughters to his
second wife and also had 2 sons, Byron P. Crossland born 1899 and died
1970 and Lee Crossland (for whom I have no info. at this time). My
grandmother's husband, Oliver Workman has a confusing history. His
mother had him out of wed-lock on Oct.20, 1884 to a man with the last
name of Huey, her maiden name was Workman and then she married a man
with the last name of Leasure, I do not know her given name yet, but
will before next week. My grandmother's husband was killed on christmas
eve of 1945, when he was struck by a woman driving her car during a snow
storm in Uniontown, Pa. He worked in the coal mines in the
Uniontown-Connellsville, Pa. area There is some confusion as to his full
name. On his head stone it is as "Oliver D. Workman", the
"D" standing for Dewey, but tonight my mom told me that my
aunt told her to tell me that that was wrong, that his name was
"Oliver H. Workman, the "H" standing for Huey....his
biological father's last name. Bunnie Ferro-Martucci
