 Welcome to my Clay genealogy page.  I hope you find something here to assist you with finding your ancestors.   My Clay ancestors followed a migration path from Virginia to Kentucky to Illinois in Pulaski County, Madison County.

George CLAY was born 1850 in Kentucky. He married LAURA WASHINGTON, daughter of LOUIS WASHINGTON. His Father was born in Virginia and his Mother was born in Kentucky.

vii. JOHN HENRY CLAY, b. Oct/09/1886, Grand Chain, Illinois; d. Nov/1922, Grand Chain, Illinois.

viii. AARON CLAY, b. Sep/1890.

2. LUCY2 CLAY (F.1) was born 1884, and died 1971. She married SILAS ANDERSON, son of PETER ANDERSON and ROSETTA DEMPSEY.

HURLEY3 ANDERSON, b. Jan/09/1912; d. Feb/12/19791; m. (1) LAVERGA; m. (2) CECILE.

ii. WILLIAM ANDERSON, m. LILLIE MCCLELLAND.

3. MARK2 CLAY , SR. (F.1). He married ALICE MCCLELLAND, daughter of RICHARD MCCLELLAND and SALLIE RUTLEDGE.

Children of MARK CLAY and ALICE MCCLELLAND are:

i. ORIS3 CLAY, b. Mar/14/1912; d. Sep/03/1975; he was married..

ii. OMA CLAY.

iii. LAURA BELL CLAY, b. Nov/27/1922, Grand Chain, Illinois; d. Jan/08/1978, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; she was married.

iv. MARK CLAY , JR., b. Feb/19/1920, Grand Chain, Illinois; d. Feb/01/1990, Davenport, Iowa; he was married.

v. LOUISE CLAY, m. LAMARR HOLIDAY.
