MR. MELVIN MCCLELLAND was
born on August 16, 1907 in Grand Chain, Illinois to the union of
Lena Hodges and Witt McClelland. He was the seventh of nine
children. He accepted Christ at an early age. Melvin was united
in holy matrimony to Allee Gibson on February 14, 1928. she
preceded him in death. Out of this union 2 children were born,
Alonzo McClelland, who preceded him in death, a daughter,
Melvine. He was a member of the United States Armed Forces,
where he served his country in World War II. He was honorably
discharged on October 25, 195. Upon discharge, Mr. McClelland
was employed with Pelicans Restaurant until he retired. He was
later employed with Porter & Sons Florist as a delivery man,
until his illness. Melvin departed life on October 14, 1997 at
4:15 p.m. at Barnes Hospital.
