I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has information on the ALEXANDER family from Pulaski County, Illinois. Thomas Alexander married Ella McClelland on January 18, 1893 in Pulaski County, Illinois. Ella was the daughter of Richard MCCLELLAN(D) and Sarah (Sallie) RUTLEDGE MCCLELLAN(D). Richard was born in Tennessee in 1839 and Sallie was born September 1842 in Tennessee. The family was found in the 1900 census with a son George Alexander, born July, 1890. I have been unable to find them in any other census records .I would really like to know what happened to son, George. Did he have a family and if there are any living descendents. Please contact me if you have any info regarding this family.
I'm researching Miles Jackson who lived in Pulaski County, Illinois prior to CW and for a time after that. He was in the ILL. 81st Infantry, Co. I.
I'm looking for these ancestors:
Albright, Simon, Henry E. and William. My name is Shirley Dixon. I've been
trying to complete genealogy on the Albright family of Wetaug, Ullin, and
Pulaski, Il. The older family members are buried at the Mt. Pisgah Lutheran
cemetery in Wetaug, I've made 2 or 3 trips back there and can get little
information about this family. Can you give me a clue where to start?
My grandfather WILLIAM HENRY B: 1872 in Il - M: ADDIE MAE DOUGLAS B: 1876.
They lived in or around Wetaug and raised their children there. My father was
one of their offspring. Both parents died when most of the children were
young.
William's father was Henry E. Albright B: 1858 in Il - M: ANGELINA MARIA
STONER (STEINER). Her family appear to have been from Rowan Cty, NC, where a
lot of the Albright's migrated from. Sorry for the LONG note, but I'm getting
a little desperate. I love the Web Page!
I stumbled upon your Pulaski County homepage quite by accident and I was thrilled. I sincerely hope that you are able to help me in my quest. My grgrgrgrandfather Aaron Tucker settled in Johnson County. We first find him on the census there in 1840. He is, however, on the subsequent census of Pulaski County. We feel, therefore, that he did not move, but due to the redrawing of the county boundaries in the 1840's was listed in Pulaski County. He lived in the Grand Chain area. His land was in Township 14. Apart from wondering if any of his descendants are still in the area, I am also wondering if you might know of the cemeteries in this area. He was last found on the 1860 Pulaski County Census at the age of 92. He was not, however, listed on the agricultural census of 1865 so we currently believe that the must have died sometime between 1860 and 1865. His wife, Nancy (actually her name was Frances) is listed with the youngest son, Henry L.W. on the 1870 census. Without going any further into particulars, his daughter Malinda married Calvin Kitchell, son of Moses Kitchell of Pulaski County. His daughter Matilda married a Havens and his daughter, Frances R. married William J. Thompson. His son Andrew J. lived in the Olmstead area and Andrew J.'s son, Thomas Aaron and his family also lived in Olmstead. Son, John and Matilda may have lived in the Massac county area. Henry L.W. never married, but died at Creal Springs in Williamson County. I would love to hear from any descendants of these families and also to find out if there is a family cemetery in the area, and if so where.
My great-grandmother, Charlote Corday Carter Fristoe, was from Mound City. She was the daughter of Henry Goodloe Carter, Judge and Postmaster for Mound City.
