ULLIN, ILLINOIS CA-1905
Locomotive #1023 is boarding passengers and cargo. Note the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad Trestle in the background. This photograph was taken a few minutes before photograph #001 in this collection. The ICRR Historical Society advised #1023 is a Rogers 4-4-2 Class Locomotive. It was built in 1904 and served the ICRR until it was retired in 1939. The Ullin Depot was built in 1897 and served Ullin until 1972 when it was moved across the tracks. It was moved back in place in 1997.

Pictured is the Illinois Central Railroad Depot at Ullin. The Ticket agent’s name is unknown. in the background is the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad Trestle that crossed over the ICRR. This was also the telegraph office for Ullin at the time.
