Marcus Hughes III was a prominent merchant in Olmsted.
Marcus was married to Ruth Hogendobler in 1933. After WWII, he opened a
variety and radio repair store in Olmsted. In 1951 he installed the first
television in Pulaski County in his home. He continued with this business
until 1966 when he purchased the E.C. Hogendobler General Store, which he
operated until 1984 when he retired.
