MADISON/NEWPORT, ILLINOIS

Newport was a black community located in Madison, Illinois. It was an area that once thrived with numerous black owned businesses, organizations and a number of community churches. The people of Newport were friendly and neighborly to say the least. This page has the promise of growth as things come to mind and hopefully visitors will also share their memories, photos and visions. Scroll down for additional information.
