CHURCH HISTORY
Elder James Hubbard, Sr. founded a Holiness Church located on Kerr Island. At this time, I am in search of someone who may remember the name of the church and the years it was in existence. Elder Hubbard was a working pastor and therefore needed an assistant Pastor to help him carry out the duties of the Church. He went to see Elder James P. Clemons, Pastor of the Newport Church of God In Christ in hopes of borrowing one of his numerous ministers to assist.
Elder Clemons granted his request and loaned him Minister Raymond E. Curtis. He also lent him two additional members to help get the church started. They were Sister Lillian Washington and Sister Sims from Venice, Illinois. The Holiness Church began worship with the following members:
