Minister Leon
A. Pryor was born in Villa Ridge, Illinois May 2, 1936. He was the fifth child
of seven children born to Deacon John and Mother Bessie Woolfolk
Pryor. Bro. Pryor accepted Christ at an early age.
He graduated
from Douglas High School in Mounds, Illinois in 1955. He came to Gary and was
soon employed at Inland Steel, East Chicago, Indiana.
Bro. Pryor
was a member of Saints Home Church of God In Christ under the
pastorage of Bishop C.E. Bennett.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Sister Thelma Nunn,
June 10, 1972. To
this union was born one daughter, Telon Pryor.
His trust and
love for God kept him faithful.
He was a dedicated Sunday school teacher. He was appointed a Deacon by the late Bishop Wm. O. Blakely.
Bro. Pryor
served God to the end as the church secretary and treasurer.
In 1994
Minister Pryor accepted the Lord's call to preach the Gospel. On just last Sunday at
the men's day service, he preached, sang and prayed and
prophesied under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. His sermon was taken
from Acts 8:26 - 36. "God
always has a man to do the will of God: -anointed song given by
God…"He's coming soon."
Minister
Pryor's memory will be cherished by a fond host of relatives,
friends and Saints Home Family.
I have fought
a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid
up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous judge, shall give me at that dany and not to me ony,
but unto all them also that love his appearing.
II Timothy 4: 7-8
