Charles D. Thomas, 75, of 1529 S. Western Ave. died at 9:35 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, at Methodist Medical Center. Born Feb. 2, 1920, in Olmsted to Dempsey and Izora Johnson Carroll Thomas, he married Deborah Anderson on May 16, 1948, in Mound City. She survives.

There are many surviving relatives. One sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He retired in 1985 from Caterpillar Inc. and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 974.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Jeffrey Ivory will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour before services at the chapel. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
